
Tigers No-Hit the ValleyCats in Final Game of the Series

Troy, NY - Jack O'Loughlin tossed six scoreless innings, and the Connecticut Tigers (19-23) no-hit the Tri-City ValleyCats (16-25) with a 3-0 victory. This is the first no-hitter in Connecticut Tigers history. O'Loughlin worked six innings with five walks and two strikeouts.
Micahel Bienlien (Hold, 1) followed up the six innings from O'Loughlin with a scoreless inning of work in the seventh. Kyle Thomas (Hold, 5) added a strikeout in the eighth while working his frame to preserve the no-hitter for Connecticut.
In the ninth, Kory Behenna (Save, 3) threw two strikeouts in the final frame to finish off the no-hitter. With the save, Behenna is now tied for the lead in saves this season.
Offensively for Connecticut, the Tigers got on the board in the top half of the fifth. After Jordan Verdon doubled off of Christian Mejias (Loss, 1-2), Hector Martinez made it back-to-back doubles to score Verdon.
Kingston Liniak brought home Martinez on an RBI single to third to make it 2-0. Mejias went four innings in relief surrendering two runs on five hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
In the seventh, Ryan Kreidler drew a balk from Jairo Lopez to push across the final run for Connecticut.
The Connecticut Tigers will have a day off tomorrow before a three-game home stand against the Williamsport Crosscutters starting on Tuesday, July 30.
