Tigers Fight Back to Win 4-3 in Overtime

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers clawed their way back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime.

Tyler Preziuso and Ryan Jevne both scored late in the final frame to send the game into overtime where Captain James Hamblin scored on a penalty shot with less than a minute left to seal the Tigers' victory.

Hurricanes forwards Noah Boyko and Jadon Joseph scored in the first frame to give the visitors an early 2-0 lead which carried into the third period.

Linus Nassen scored from the point early in the third stanza to get the home team on the board. Nassen's second goal of the season was assisted by Eric Van Impe and Hamblin.

Midway through the period, Hurricanes leading scorer Dylan Cozens scored to make it a 3-1 hockey game.

The Tigers were tenacious and it paid off late in the game when Preziuso and Jevne scored just under a minute apart to send the game to overtime. Both players scored their fourth goal of the season and they both have 6 points in the Tigers' last three games.

Rookie goaltender Mads Sogaard stopped 26 of the Hurricanes' 29 shots while Hurricanes' Reese Klassen turned aside 20 of the Tabbies' 23 shots.

The 6-5-0-1 Tigers will travel west on Highway Three tomorrow for a rematch with the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The game starts at 7:00 PM at the Enmax Centre.
