
Tigers defeat Thunderbirds

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 11-2 Saturday night at the Medicine Hat Arena.
The T-Birds finish out their six-game road trip through the Central Division on Sunday against the Kootenay Ice at 6 p.m.
Emerson Etem, Matt MacKay and Bretton Cameron each three goals for the Tigers. Zdenek Okal and Taylor Gal also scored for the Tigers. Seattle got on the board at 3:37 of the third period on the first WHL goal from Connor Sanvido. Stefan Warg sent the puck from the right point to Jeremy Schappert at the left point. Schappert sent the puck low to Sanvido in the left circle. Sanvido put a quick wrist shot on goal that beat Medicine Hat goalie Tyler Bunz low under the blocker.
Schappert scored Seattle's second goal in the game at 14:53 of the third. Schappert beat Bunz with a shot from between the top of the circle for his first goal of the season. Jonathan Parker and Tyler Alos assisted on the goal.
Medicine Hat outshot Seattle 43-25 in the game.
Seattle goalie Kyle Jahraus made 32 saves on 43 shots and his record is now 1-1-0-0.
Bunz stopped 23 of 25 shots and his record is 8-5-2-1.
The T-Birds next home game is Friday, November 6, against the Spokane Chiefs at 7:35 p.m. at ShoWare Center.
T-Birds single game tickets for the 2009-10 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
