Portland Timbers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers announced this evening that fewer than 800 tickets remain for Wednesday's U.S. Open Cup match with Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders FC at PGE Park.
Remaining tickets are available at area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000; tickets will also be available at the PGE Park box office beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. As of Tuesday evening, seats still remained in three of the four seating categories at PGE Park.
The third-round matchup between the Timbers and Sounders FC will be the first official meeting between the Northwest sides since Seattle joined MLS in 2009. The Portland-Seattle soccer rivalry dates back to 1975 when both fielded teams in the North American Soccer League; the spirited meetings continued in the USL First Division from 2001-08.
