FC Dallas News Release
Dallas, Tex. - FC Dallas President and General Manager Greg Elliott announced at 2:36 p.m. today that tickets for the stadium dedication game at Pizza Hut Park this Saturday are sold out. With the previously announced capacity limit of 15,000 Pizza Hut Park will be at its capacity on August 6.
Elliott stated, "Obviously we are thrilled to have a great crowd for the dedication game. We are most appreciative of the support, but at the same time we want to discourage fans who do not have a ticket or have tickets reserved at Will Call from coming to the stadium on Saturday. We are, of course, encouraging fans to attend any or all of our final 11 home matches starting on August 13 against the New England Revolution at the fabulous Pizza Hut Park. These tickets can be acquired through Ticketmaster at (214) 373-8000 or FC Dallas at (888) FCD-GOAL (323-4625) or www.fcdallas.net. Five, Six and 11-game packages for these games are available as appropriate."
The stadium dedication match between FC Dallas and the MetroStars is a historic one as Pizza Hut Park will host its opening event on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Anticipating traffic and parking delays team officials are encouraging fans to arrive early at the stadium, which is located at the intersection of the Dallas Parkway and Main Street in Frisco. The stadium gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and fans are invited to come early so as to enhance the stadium experience and be part of the historic opening ceremonies. Those ceremonies, which will include a military flyover and honors for the many contributing groups, will begin promptly at 7:15 p.m.
FC Dallas, a charter member club of Major League Soccer, will begin play in the new 20,000 seat soccer stadium on August 6, 2005. The 145-acre facility is located at the intersection of Main Street and Dallas North Tollway in Frisco. Pizza Hut Park will accommodate Major League Soccer matches, major concerts, international soccer matches and High School football. Adjacent to the stadium are 17 regulation-sized, tournament-grade soccer fields which will be utilized on a year-round basis. Join us as we celebrate Major League Soccer's 10th season.
