ThunderBolts Players Advance to the AFL

Lakeland, FL--- The Lakeland ThunderBolts will have some spots to fill on their 2007 roster. Head Coach Teddy Keaton announced Wednesday morning, that three players from the 2006 team have signed contracts with AFL teams (Arena Football League).

Robert Branch, Brendan Givan, and Otheese Wells will all get there shots at the next level.

#98 Robert Branch, defensive line, 6'2'', signed with the New York Dragons #44 Brendan Givan, linebacker/defensive end, 6'2", signed with the Nashville Cats #21 Otheese Wells 5'11", defensive back, also signed with the Nashville Cats

All three players had a major role in the ThunderBolts being the number one defense in the league. The ThunderBolts went 13-3 and were the 2006 Atlantic South Division Champions.

Coach Keaton said, "It will be tough to replace one of them, much less all three, but that is what we are trying accomplish here, coach our players to showcase their talents, and move to the next level."

The Thunderbolts will hold their second open try-outs on November 4, 2006, at Fort Meade High School. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. For more information visit their website www.lakelandthunderbolts.com or contact Coach Keaton at 863-834-8141.

Last season several players were signed from the open try-outs including Chris Robichaud defensive back, who lead the team in interceptions.
