
ThunderBolts Head Coach Announces Coaching Staff

LAKELAND-The Lakeland ThunderBolts and Head Coach Teddy Keaton introduced today their Assistant Head Coaches for the 2006 Season. Coach Keaton combines coaches with NIFL experience from Texas and Alabama with an outstanding group of local coaches.
Patrick Dooley joins the ThunderBolts organization as Assistant Head Coach and Co-Defensive Coordinator. Dooley is a resident of Lakeland, FL. Coach Dooley was the Head JV Football Coach at Tiffin University during 2002-2003. He is currently the Defensive Coordinator, Linebacker, Offensive Line coach for Auburndale High School.
A native of Crane, TX, Brian Brents comes to the Lakeland ThunderBolts as Offensive Coordinator. Brents played wide receiver for Abilene Christian University, and finished up his degree at the University of Texas Permian Basin. Coach Brents helped the Roughnecks, of the NIFL, to the playoffs in their inaugural season, and returned to the Roughnecks last season as the Co-Offensive Coordinator helping them to a 16-1 record and advancing to the NIFL Conference Championship Game.
Michael Hayde comes to the Lakeland ThunderBolts as the Offensive Line Coach. Hayde is a resident of Bartow and is a U.S History Teacher for Fort Meade High School. Coach Hayde returns this year for this eighth year coaching the Fort Meade Miners. In 2005 Mike led the Miners to the Class A State Championship Game. In 2004 the Miners won the Class A State Championship game. Also in 2004, Coach Hayde was named Tampa Bay Buccaneers N.F.L. High School Coach of the Year.
Brent Harbin enters his first year with the ThunderBolts coaching both the Full Back and Line Back positions. Coach Harbin is finishing up is second season as an Assistant Football Coach at Auburndale High School, were he is also an ESE teacher. Harbin is a native of Huntsville, Alabama; he is a graduate of the University of North Alabama as well as Athens State University. Coach Harbin comes to the ThunderBolts with over 15 years of coaching experience, three National Championships, and three Gulf South Conference Championships as an assistant at the University of North Alabama.
Kenny Johnson joins the ThunderBolts as the Quarterback coach. Johnson is a resident of Lakeland, FL and graduated from Webber International University in 1999. Coach Johnson's coaching career began in 1999 with the Lakeland Eagles Football as the Quarterbacks coach and Offensive Coordinator. He was recently hired by George Jenkins High School as an Assistant Coach and Quarterbacks coach.
Terrell Stewart will join the Lakeland ThunderBolts as the Wide Receiver Coach. Stewart comes to the team from Tuscaloosa, AL. From 1988-1992, Steward attended Jackson State University, were he played wide receiver and returned kick-offs. Coach Stewart started his coaching career at Stillman College, Tuscaloosa, AL, in 1999. He coached the Wide Receivers and in 2001 was the Interim Offensive Coordinator.
"I feel that I have assembled a great coaching staff, each coach brings with them experience, knowledge, passion for the game and a desire to have a winning program," said Coach Keaton.
