Thunderbirds to Hold Open Tryouts

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Sept. 16, 2009 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds have today announced the dates for the team's open tryouts for the 2009-2010 season. The team will be holding open tryouts for the 2009-10 NBA Development League season on October 17-18 in Albuquerque, N.M., and on October 24-25 in Dallas, Texas.
The Albuquerque tryout will be held at Albuquerque High School, located at 800 Odelia Rd NE, Albuquerque, N.M. 87102, and the Dallas tryout will be held at Frisco Field House, located at 6155 Sports Village Lane, Frisco, Texas 75034. Check in and late registration for both tryouts will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, with the tryouts beginning at 9:00 am. Players will run through drills and scrimmages until approximately 3:00 pm each day.
The Thunderbirds' tryouts give prospective players the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of Thunderbirds head coach John Coffino and the rest of the team's coaching staff. Participants will compete to earn an invitation to the team's training camp, which will begin in early November.
Applicants can pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure and release forms, in addition to a $125 non-refundable fee by October 14, 2009. The fee for day of registration will be $150. Payments must be made by money order or cashier's check, or cash on the day of. Application forms are available at www.abqtbirds.com.
