
Thunderbirds to hold auditions for the 2005-06 Dance and Cheer Team

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., September 7- The Albuquerque Thunderbirds will conduct auditions for the Dance and Cheer team on Saturday, September 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Defined Fitness 4930 McLeod, NE.
Defined Fitness is the official gym of the Albuquerque Thunderbirds Cheer and Dance squad. Undoubtedly New Mexico's premier health club facility, Defined Fitness has four locations throughout the area with over 100,000 square feet of workout space. The Dance Team will participate in cheer and dance routines during the 23 home NBA Development League basketball games at Tingley Coliseum. The final team will be composed of an energetic group of dancers, cheerleaders, gymnasts and entertainers able to provide an exciting entertainment and crowd encouraging presentations. In addition, the team will participate in various community service events scheduled throughout the season.
Potential candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be a high school graduate. In addition to a physical and personal appearance evaluation, candidates will be judged on their ability to grasp choreographed dance routines, maintain a positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively.
To pre-register, log on to abqtbirds.com or visit the Thunderbirds Office at 2325 San Pedro Dr., Ste 1A1 or Duke City Dance Studio and Defined Fitness locations to obtain registration forms. Return forms along with a $10 fee to the Thunderbirds Office by September 23. Candidates who choose to register on the day of auditions will be charged a $15 non-refundable fee.
The Thunderbirds home opener is Friday, Nov. 25 against the Tulsa 66ers, with tip off at 7 p.m. at Tingley Coliseum. The regular season begins with back-to-back outings against the 66ers in Tulsa on Nov. 18-19.
