Thunderbirds Hire New Vice President

July 21, 2009 - NBA G League (G League) - New Mexico Thunderbirds News Release

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., July 20, 2009 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds have hired Adam Minnick as the team's new Vice President of Business Operations. Adam joins the Thunderbirds after spending the past seven years working in professional hockey, including the last three locally with the Scorpions.

"Sam and I are delighted that Adam has joined the Thunderbirds," said team owner Jackie Bregman. "He did a great job for the Scorpions and we are confident that with his help, we will be able to grow our fan base as well as boost our corporate partnerships."

Most of his time was spent as the team's Director of Media Relations and Broadcaster. In addition, he was an integral part of the corporate and ticket sales teams.

"I'm excited to come on board with the team, and I look forward to building the Thunderbirds into a premier franchise," said Minnick. "I want to thank the Bregmans for giving me this opportunity and putting their faith in me."

Prior to arriving in New Mexico, Adam spent the past four seasons with the Florida Seals, Macon Trax and Fayetteville FireAntz in much the same capacity.

Prior to moving to sports, Adam worked for two years for the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago in the Sports and Leagues Department. While at the JCC he doubled the adult and youth sports participants.

Adam has been lucky enough to cover major events during his broadcasting career. While at Indiana University, he covered the firing of long time basketball Coach Bobby Knight. In addition, he was selected as the lead broadcaster for the 2004 WHA2 All-Star game in Jacksonville.

"The chance for me to further my career in sports is exciting," said Minnick. "I feel the Thunderbirds are on the brink of becoming a huge success in New Mexico."

When not at work the Chicago native enjoys watching his beloved Cubs and Indiana University basketball. He also enjoys getting back to Chicago to visit his family in the off-season.

He currently resides in Rio Rancho with his wife Gloria.

Season Tickets are now on sale for as low as $4 per game. Call 505.265.3865 or visit www.abqtbirds.com for more information.
