
Thunder Win Second Straight

Harlingen, Texas - The McAllen Thunder (6-13) used a two-run triple by first baseman Brian Nichols to lead them over the Rio Grande Valley White wings (10-8) by a score of 3-2 Monday night at Harlingen Field.
McAllen starter Demetrius Banks threw eight innings for his first victory of the season and second straight for the Thunder. Banks (1-0) allowed one run, on seven hits, while striking out four in the process.
Chad Robinson earned his first save of the season while giving up two hits and one run in the ninth inning.
White wings starter Luis Noel (1-1) suffered his first loss of the season, while lasting five and two-thirds of an inning, giving up five hits and three runs that were all earned.
The Thunder will end the two game mini-series against the Rio Grande Valley White wings on Tuesday evening at Harlingen Field with the first pitch set at 7:05 p.m.
