St. Charles Chill News Release
Wichita, Kan. - The Chill scored the first two goals and took a 2-1 lead into the third period but Wichita struck for four goals in the final frame, including an empty netter in the final minute to seal a 5-2 win at the INTRUST Bank Arena.
A closely played first period was almost over before St. Charles (7-19-4) took a 1-0 lead at the 18:57 mark on Andrew Conboy's second goal on the assist from Anthony Perdicaro, his tenth. Despite the Chill being outshot 18-4 in the second period Conboy returned the favor, setting up Perdicaro for his eigth goal with Kyle O'Kane picking up the assist, his nineteenth point.
Wichita (11-14-4) netted their first of the night late in the second period to push the Chill lead to one goal at 2-1.
The Thunder tied the game at 2-2 just 33 second into the final period and took a 3-2 lead with a power play goal midway through. St. Charles was forced to remain aggressive and that pressure led to a goal for the Thunder with under four minutes left to stretch their lead to 4-2. Wichita added an empty netter to account for the final score.
The Chill return to The Family Arena for a New Year's Eve game with the puck drop set for 6:05 this Tuesday.
