November 9, 2006 - World Indoor Football League 2 (WIFL 2)
Daytona Beach Thunder News Release
DELAND, Fla. - The Daytona Beach Thunder is holding a second local tryout on Saturday, November 18 in DeLand at Sperling Sports Complex beginning at 9 a.m.
Tryout fees are $50, cash or money order only, and includes a Thunder t-shirt.
Eighteen players were signed at the last DeLand workout, but interest and a few remaining needs prompted Head Coach Leon Bright to stage another workout.
"I'd like to shore up the line on both sides," Bright said. "And if there's a quarterback out there who wants a shot - come on over."
The Thunder enters its second season hoping to improve on a disappointing 6-8 mark in its inaugural year. Daytona Beach's home opener at the Ocean Center is February 11, 2007 against the Augusta Spartans.
