
Lions to honor law enforcement officers at May 12th game

COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Columbus Lions will honor area law enforcement officers at their May 12 game against the Augusta Spartans.
"It's a way of showing our appreciation for those who do a thankless, demanding job,'' said Columbus coach Jason Gibson. "It will be increase awareness for our fans on what they can do to make the area safer."
In addition to participating of the pre-game presentation of colors, national anthem and coin toss, the halftime show will include demonstrations by show groups and introductions of area law officials.
Fallen officers will be remembered with their names listed on the Columbus Civic Center's scoreboard.
In the fan area, booths promoting local, state and national safety programs as well child fingerprinting will be available.
