
Thunder Shut out at Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Bloomington Thunder were shut out for the fourth time this season in a 4-0 defeat to the Columbus Cottonmouths at Columbus Civic Center.
The Cottonmouths used a turnover in the Bloomington slot to score the game's first goal, an unassisted shorthanded goal by Tory Allan with 11:52 left in the opening period.
The Snakes pushed the advantage to 2-0 with a Nielsson Arcibal snipe from the left circle with 10:42 left in the second period, followed by a Levi Lind goal 16 seconds later to give the hosts a 3-0 lead. Jason Gray delivered a blast from the high slot with 1:38 remaining for the final score.
Andrew Loewen earned the 30-save shutout in goal while Max Strang stopped 28 shots in the loss. Neither team scored on the power play with the Thunder given three chances to six for the Snakes.
The Thunder return to action at U.S. Cellular Coliseum this Friday at 7:05 p.m. to face the Peoria Rivermen. Friday is Scout Night with special pricing and activities.
