Thunder Returns Popular Jersey Giveaways For Six Unique Home Dates

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," has announced six home dates on the 2011-12 regular season schedule that will feature the return of popular replica jersey giveaways.

The six home games, offering the most amount of Thunder jersey giveaways ever in a season, give fans of all ages an opportunity to take home a hard-to-find, wearable item bearing the Thunder colors and logo in a black, gold or specialty design.

For four different games during the 2011-12 season, the first 1,500 kids in attendance (ages 12 and under) can take home replica Thunder threads.

New to the promotional lineup this year are two dates featuring specialty jersey giveaway nights. On Friday, Nov. 4 against Utah at 7:30 p.m., kids in attendance at the game will receive a commemorative Thunder pink replica jersey, designed just like the version worn by the players on the ice during Thunder Goes Pink festivities. The jersey will feature a black base with pink-accented bolts that run along the sides.

On a Saturday, Dec. 17 game against the Idaho Steelheads at 7:30 p.m., kids who enter through the turnstiles before the game will receive a collectible Thunder holiday jersey, designed similar to the holiday specialty jersey the team wore during the 2007-08 season.

Young fans can also take home a black Thunder replica jersey on Saturday, Jan. 28 and a gold third replica jersey on Sunday, Feb. 26.

For two different games during the season, adult fans can grab a replica Thunder jersey, suitable for wearing in the seats, leisure activities and taking to the local pick-up game. On a Friday, Jan. 27 game against the Alaska Aces at 7:30 p.m., the first 1,500 adults (ages 18 and over) can take home a replica black Thunder jersey, matching the team's colors at home for the second half of the regular season.

The first 1,500 adult fans (ages 18 and over) can also grab a replica jersey bearing the Thunder's gold "third" colors on Saturday, Mar. 3, in a 7:30 p.m. home game against Alaska.

The leader in ECHL attendance for four consecutive seasons (2005-09), the Thunder ranked second in ECHL attendance in 2010-11 with 229,751 fans (6,382 per game). Last season, jersey giveaways attracted crowds of 7,500 or more to Stockton Arena each game and over a combined total of 42,400 fans enjoyed Thunder hockey for all five promotional games.

OPENING NIGHT AND TICKET INFORMATION

Opening Night is Friday, Oct. 14, when the Thunder opens the 2011-12 regular season at home against the Colorado Eagles, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Stockton Arena. The game will be a historic ECHL event to welcome in the Eagles, who will play in their inaugural game after spending the previous eight seasons in the Central Hockey League.
