November 7, 2013 - SPHL (SPHL)
Bloomington Thunder News Release
The Bloomington Thunder return to U.S. Cellular Coliseum this weekend for the first time since opening night two weeks ago to begin a four-game home stand.
The Thunder and the Columbus Cottonmouths both bring 1-3-0 records into Friday's 7:05 p.m. face-off, followed by a rematch on Saturday night. The Thunder earned their first win with Friday's 4-0 triumph at Fayetteville but lost Saturday's rematch 6-3. The Cottonmouths also picked up their victory on Friday night in thrilling fashion by overcoming a 4-0 deficit for a 6-5 win over Huntsville before losing the rematch on Saturday 4-3.
Kevin Walrod leads the Thunder with six points (3 goals, 3 assists) after a four-point weekend in Fayetteville. Walrod and Dan Barczuk each lead the Thunder with three goals. Tory Allan led the Cottonmouths last weekend with five points (3 goals, 2 assists) and a four-point night on Friday. Allan and Tom Maldonado each have five points to share the Snakes' scoring lead.
Thunder games can be heard on WJBC.com and inside U.S. Cellular Coliseum on 93.7 FM. A pay-per-view video broadcast with the WJBC call is also available through America One. Links to the audio and video broadcasts are on the home page of www.bloomingtonthunder.com.
Friday's ticket deal as part of Pepsi Date Night is two tickets for only $20 after bringing a Pepsi product to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum box office. Saturday is Military Night with special jerseys worn by the Thunder and auctioned immediately after the game. Kids eat free every Saturday night courtesy of ServPro from the time the gates open at 6 p.m. until the first Thunder goal, and Elmo from Sesame Street will attend on Saturday sponsored by Country Financial.
Media are welcome to interview Thunder coach Brian Gratz and Thunder players and personnel by contacting Greg Halbleib at the Thunder office (309-434-2980) to set up a time.
