Daytona Beach Thunder News Release
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Daytona Beach Thunder owner/CEO Zack McDonald ran a circus on Tuesday, January, 17.
The co-owner of the American Indoor Football League expansion team served as honorary ringmaster for the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus at the Ocean Center - also the home of the Thunder - during its recent stay in Daytona Beach.
We're not going to mention that McDonald flubbed his lines since 1) He recovered nicely and ad-libbed the segment with ringmaster Ted McRae and 2) His name's on our paychecks.
"What a great experience for myself and my family," McDonald. "This is the kind of perk you get when you own a football team - you think a business machine company owner gets to do this very often?"
The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus is in its 136th year - "longer than baseball,'' as McRae pointed out. Two separate tours run nationwide, with the one visiting Daytona Beach providing a behind-the-scenes access prior to the show that features audience participation.
"One hundred thirty years of family entertainment - that's a legacy we can strive to reach with the Thunder," McDonald said.
