DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Daytona Beach Thunder owners Kevin and Zack McDonald announce that Bob Schmitt will serve as Director of Technology.

Robert W. (Bob) Schmitt, a resident of Edgewater, Fla., will oversee the development of the team's official web site at dbthunder.net as well as the team's online store at dbthunderstore.com through a partnership with his company Compugenie Website Design. CompuGenie has grown primarily by word of mouth to serve as the website designer for companies nationwide as well as subcontracting to other website design and marketing companies for attractive, effective, custom websites.

Last year, Schmitt served as a webmaster for three National Indoor Football League teams. He was formerly the Director of Student Technical Services and Webmaster at Bethune-Cookman College and the Web Technology Administrator at APCO International before pursuing his own CompuGenie Website Design business.

"It is a privilege and a pleasure to be partnered with quality people like Zack and Kevin McDonald and their entire Thunder organization," Schmitt said. "The expectation has to be that they are going to field a quality indoor football team that gives their fans a lot of bang for their entertainment buck and that does a lot of good in this community."

Dedicated to establishing itself as an integral part of the local community through fan and sponsorship participation, the Thunder begins its inaugural season February 2006, with its Ocean Center home opener March 2 against the Raleigh Rebels with a post-game concert featuring Southern rock legends Molly Hatchet. For more information, visit the team's official web site at http://www.dbthunder.net or call (386) 788-2385.
