Stockton Thunder News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder announced its 2012-13 hockey season, the eighth in the Central Valley, will be themed "Experience The Storm", inviting fans to experience a flurry of entertainment that has become synonymous with the unique brand and presentation of Thunder hockey at Stockton Arena.
The new campaign, typically given a fresh profile each year, will integrate with the season's overall hockey and entertainment experience. Game night promotions, special events, community activity, website design, digital media and charitable efforts will all take on the new look aimed to present Thunder hockey in an intense and vibrant appearance.
"Our promotional calendar for the 2012-13 season is again filled with promotions that will be enjoyed by fans young and old alike," said Thunder president Dan Chapman. "We're extremely excited with our newest promotion, Military Appreciation Weekend, which promises to be a big highlight while at the same time recognizing those men and women that have so bravely served our country. That promotion along with the many others we've added to the schedule will make the Stockton Arena the place to be this hockey season."
The artwork to accompany the theme was designed by Thunder internet marketing manager & graphic designer Mark Misiewicz.

New to the lineup of events and giveaways this season is a special "Military Appreciation Weekend," presented at Stockton Arena for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15-16 against Ontario and San Francisco (7:30 p.m.). The Thunder will salute members of the United States Military throughout the weekend with a series of special presentations and giveaway items at the door.
The first 5,000 fans in attendance at Friday's game will receive a collectible military themed poster. The following night, the first 1,000 fans (ages 13 and over) will receive a special red, white and blue Thunder cap as part of the commemorative weekend.
Fans can experience the Thunder's premier promotional event - "Thunder Goes Pink" - for its seventh annual run with a trio of weekend games from Nov. 2-4. The first 1,000 women (ages 18 and over) in attendance at games on Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Sunday (4:00 p.m.) and the first 2,000 female fans (ages 18 and over) visiting on Saturday (7:30 p.m.) will receive a limited edition Thunder Goes Pink VII tote bag.
Other familiar promotions and causes presented by the Thunder are slated to return. The annual Thunder's "Easy Being Green" - an eco-friendly event designed to raise awareness in environment conservation - is Friday and Saturday, Mar. 8-9 vs. Las Vegas at 7:30 p.m. A special edition player poster will be handed to the first 4,000 fans at Friday's game and eco water bottles will be given away to the first 1,000 fans in attendance on Saturday.
The second annual "Hockey With Heart" event is Friday, Feb. 1 vs. Idaho at 7:30 p.m., where fans are encouraged to wear red to support heart health awareness. The first 1,000 fans (ages 18 and over) at the door will receive a red t-shirt.
The 2012-13 experience begins with Opening Night on Friday, Oct. 12, when the Thunder launches the season and the ECHL's 25th Anniversary campaign at home against the Ontario Reign, starting at 7:30 p.m.
In addition, the popular Thunder "Family Day" games are scheduled to return, providing value to any family looking to enjoy an outing at a Thunder game.
