Fort Worth, Texas - Blake Nation hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Nation struck out 13 batters to carry the Fort Worth Cats (19-16) to a 4-2 victory over the McAllen Thunder (12-24) at La Grave Field.

The Fort Worth Cats held off the McAllen Thunder, as the McAllen Thunder were unable to overcome a four-run fifth inning deficit.

The Thunder scored two runs in the ninth on a two-run home run by Mike Demperio, which was the second of the season. Despite their efforts, the McAllen Thunder could not finish the comeback.

Chuck Caufield reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning.

Alexei Perez (1-1) took the loss for the McAllen Thunder. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed four runs.

The McAllen Thunder will start an eight game series versus the Edinburg Roadrunners on Sunday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch scheduled at 6:05 p.m.
