Thunder Fall Short in Late Innings

Edinburg, Texas - The McAllen Thunder (6-15) late inning rally fell short to the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings by a score of 5-3 Friday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The WhiteWings (13-8) were lead by center fielder Louie Sumosa who drove in two runs while going 3-for-4 at the plate in his debut for the WhiteWings.
Celson Polanco (3-1) earned his third victory of the season allowing six hits and two runs in six and two-thirds innings pitched.
Baron Short (0-3) took the loss for the Thunder lasting only three innings while allowing seven hits and three runs.
Antoin Gray went 2-for-3 and drove in a run for the Thunder in the sixth inning to start a mini-rally in which they would score a run but ended in the eighth inning.
The Thunder will continue their four game series on Saturday night against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
