Thunder Fall on the Road

Harlingen, Texas - The McAllen Thunder (6-14) saw their two game win streak snapped by the Rio Grande Valley White wings (11-8) by a score of 10-5 Tuesday night at Harlingen Field.

McAllen starter Brian Murphy (1-2) took the loss which was the second on the season while allowing nine hits and seven runs on four innings of work.

Designated hitter Gio Rosa drove in a run while going 2-for-3 at the plate for the Thunder. Shortstop Roberto Rodriguez and Third basemen Nathan Tomaszewski had a combined five hits to pace the McAllen offense as well.

White wings starter Luis Chirinos (2-2) earned his second win of the season, while lasting five and two-thirds of an inning, giving up six hits and one run while striking out five.

The Thunder will have Wednesday off but will return home to start a six game home stand beginning on Thursday night with a four game series against the Rio Grande Valley White wings at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
