Portland Thunder News Release
PORTLAND, OR - The Portland Thunder acquired wide receiver Tyrone Goard from the Pittsburgh Power in exchange for offensive lineman Antonio Narcisse.
"We felt like we needed a big red zone target," said Head Coach Matthew Sauk. "Hopefully Tyrone will be able to come in here and help us put points on the board when we get inside the opponents' 10-yard-line."
Goard (6-4, 205), a native of Charleston, W. Va., played college football at Eastern Kentucky University. With the Colonels, he ranked among the top 10 in the school's program with 36 game appearances recording 1,842 receiving yards (9th in school history) and 24 touchdown catches (tied 2nd in school history). In 2011, he was selected to the All-OVC Second Team. After college, Goard signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2013
The Portland Thunder continue their inaugural season next week in Los Angeles against the league's other new franchise, the Los Angeles KISS. Season tickets are available for purchase starting as low as $99 by calling 503-773-4AFL or by visiting www.portlandthunder.com.
