Threshers Split Twin Bill against the Tortugas on Friday Night

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Clearwater Threshers split the twin bill against the Daytona Tortugas on Beach Dogs Friday night.
After the second game of a scheduled doubleheader was postponed due to rain on Thursday night, Daytona and Clearwater were slated to play two on Friday.
Clearwater (23-23) scored the only run of the first game. In the third inning, Baron Radcliff drew a walk to lead off the inning and Edgar Made singled him over to third. Yhoswar Garcia grounded into a force out at short for the second out of the inning, and the ball was in the right spot for Radcliff to cross the plate.
Threshers' starter Fernando Lozano tossed four scoreless innings. He allowed just two hits and did not permit a walk while striking out three batters. Jordi Martinez (3-0) was credited with the win for the Threshers. He allowed one hit and gave up one walk while striking out two batters in three scoreless innings of relief.
The Clearwater Beach Dogs took the field in game two. Daytona (20-26) jumped on the scoreboard in the first inning. Daniel Vellojin hit a line drive into center field and Michel Triana followed with a two-run home run to give the Tortugas an early 2-0 advantage.
The Beach Dogs battled back in the third inning. Yhoswar Garcia knocked a two-out single and moved to second on a wild pitch. He later scored on a line-drive single off the bat of Luis Garcia to cut the deficit in half 2-1.
Neither team allowed a run in the following four innings of the seven-inning contest and the Tortugas came out on top 2-1.
RHP Cristian Hernandez (2-3) was on the hook for the loss. He gave up two runs on three hits while striking out seven in five frames of work. Rodolfo Sanchez tossed two scoreless innings of one-hit ball while striking out four in relief.
