
Three Red Bulls Called for International Duty

HARRISON, NJ - New York Red Bulls midfielder Joel Lindpere (Estonia), defender Roy Miller (Costa Rica), and goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul (Senegal) were called up by their respective national teams for international matches from Friday, Nov. 11 to Tuesday, Nov. 15.
Lindpere will join the Estonia squad for their two-leg Euro 2012 Qualification playoff against the Republic of Ireland. The winner of the series will qualify for Euro 2012, to be played in Poland and Ukraine next summer. Estonia will host Ireland in the first leg on Friday, Nov. 11 at A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn, Estonia. The second match will be played Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Lindpere has earned 74 caps and scored five international goals for Estonia. This season with the Red Bulls, Lindpere set the franchise single-season record for games played (34) and minutes (3,048), scoring seven goals and adding seven assists. Through two seasons in New York, Lindpere has 10 goals and 13 assists in 63 games.
Costa Rica called up Miller for their upcoming international friendlies on Nov. 11 and 15. Costa Rica travels to Panama City to take on fellow CONCACAF rival Panama on Friday, Nov. 11. The squad then returns home to San Jose, Costa Rica to host reigning World Cup Champion, Spain. Miller, who just completed his second season with the Red Bulls, has made 24 appearances for his country. He has played 55 games with New York, registering five assists.
Coundoul will join Senegal as the country prepares for January's Africa Cup of Nations with friendlies against Equatorial Guinea on Friday, Nov. 11 and Cote d'Ivoire on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Coundoul has made eight appearances for Senegal, which will play in Group A of the Africa Cup of Nations against Equatorial Guinea, Libya and Zambia. This season for New York, Coundoul played in 12 games, earning three shutout victories.
