
Three-Point Specialist Allocated to Flame

GREENVILLE, S.C., November 2 â Terrence Woods, a 6-5 guard from Florida A&M University who led the nation in three-point field goals made for the last two seasons, has been allocated to the Florida Flame of the NBA's National Basketball Development League. NBDL director of basketball operations Chris Alpert said Woods will report to training camp Nov. 7 in Ft., Myers.
Woods began his collegiate career at the University of Tennessee (1999-2001) before playing his final two seasons at FAMU (2002-04). In four seasons he converted 353 of 841 three-point attempts (.420). His 353 career three-point field goals made ranks 11th in NCAA history and he won the NABC/InterSport Three-Point Shootout held at the NCAA Final Four.
A first-team All-MEAC selection in both his junior and senior seasons, Woods played in 59 games for Florida A&M, averaging 20.4 points and 3.9 rebounds. In two seasons at Tennessee he played in 64 games, averaging 4.7 points and 1.1 rebounds.
Each NBDL team is allocated two players. Up to 17 players will report to training camps in each market, and a minimum of one allocation player is guaranteed a spot on each team's final roster of 10 players.
The NBDL, the NBA's minor league, includes the Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Huntsville Flight (Ala.), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.) and Asheville Altitude (N.C.).
The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Twenty-eight (28) players have been called up the NBA on 39 separate occasions. Nine former NBDL coaches, five athletic trainers, 11 referees and 29 front office executives have also been called up since the start of the league's inaugural season in November 2001.
Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the league also offers fun, family entertainment at affordable prices. The NBDL is a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 30 teams and is a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
