Richmond, Indiana – The Roosters announced today that pitchers Tony Casoli, Jim Cartwright, and Tyler Mott are under contract for the 2005 season.

Tony Casoli finished the season 3-3 with a 4.53 ERA in Richmond. The Turnersville, New Jersey native was 0-2 with a 5.70 ERA and one save before coming to the Roosters. The right-hander had lots of success against the Florence Freedom, a divisional rival. In two starts against the Freedom, Casoli threw 16 innings, allowing just two runs and seven hits. He fired two complete games in 2004, a shut out of the Freedom on July 25th and a seven inning performance against the Kalamazoo Kings in the nightcap of an August 29th doubleheader. Casoli played college baseball at Georgia Southwestern State, a NAIA institution in Americus, Georgia. He joined the Roosters starting staff in 2004 through a trade with the Western Division's Springfield-Ozark Ducks.

Jim Cartwright was 0-0 with a 12.46 ERA in five appearances with Roosters last season. Cartwright was placed in the bullpen upon arriving in Richmond on August 5th, after Frontier League stops in Kenosha and Kalamazoo. Cartwright currently resides in Indianapolis.

Tyler Mott compiled a 1-3 record and a 4.98 ERA in his rookie season (2004). Mott battled shoulder injuries while pitching in seven games, four as a starter. Mott joined the Roosters on June 23rd after finishing his collegiate career at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. He was placed on the injured reserve after leaving an August 8th game against Rockford, complaining of shoulder pain. Mott has spent the off-season rehabbing in preparation for the 2005 season.

The Roosters finished 43-53 in 2004, 5th place in the Eastern Division of the independent, Frontier League. The 2005 season will begin on May 25th at McBride Stadium against the Florence Freedom. The 96 game schedule includes 48 home games.
