Three Ice Players Named Midseason All-Stars
INDIANAPOLIS- The Indiana Ice announced today that forward Scott Conway and defensemen Austin Kosack and Joshua Jacobs have been named to the USHL Midseason All-Star Teams for the 2013-2014 season. Conway and Kosack both earned first team honors while Jacobs was named to the second team.
Indy is one of four USHL teams to have three or more players on the all-star team and the only Eastern Conference team to do so. The Waterloo Black Hawks lead the Western Conference with four players on the divisions 12-man roster while the Omaha Lancers and Sioux City Musketeers each have three players listed.
Leading the Ice with 42 points (19G, 23A) through 40 games this season, Conway has been one of the more steady scoring threats on the Indiana roster. The Penn State commit has recorded a point in all but ten games this season while tying a franchise record with a 13-game point streak ranging from early December to late January.
Kosack earns a spot on the all-star roster as the league's leader among blueliners in plus-minus rating (+34) while topping all team defensemen in scoring (3G, 19A) through 42 games this season. Alongside linemate and fellow all-star Jacobs, Kosack anchors the stingy Indy defense that leads the league in shots against per game (24.37).
In his second year with Indy, Jacobs has been a staple on the blueline alongside follow all-star and linemate Kosack. The Michigan State commit sites second among league defensemen in plus-minus rating (+28) behind his defensive partner. Jacobs was also the 41st ranked North American skater in the NHL Central Scouting midseason rankings for the 2014 NHL Draft.
