LONG BEACH, CA – The Long Beach Jam have slammed their way through the American Basketball Association (ABA) season. A three-game set (Friday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.) with the Las Vegas Rattlers is all that remains before the team hosts the ABA Championship Game Mar. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now. The Jam (21-7) have been in first place since the beginning of the season, and have posted a 3-0 record vs. the Rattlers.

Derrick Dial leads the Jam in scoring, chipping in 16.8 points per game. The team averages 117.5 points per contest. The Jam have maintained their place atop the league despite having so many players called up to the NBA. Jannero Pargo is latest former Jammer to be called up. Pargo is now a member of the Toronto Raptors. He joins ex-Jammers DerMarr Johnson (New York Knicks), Matt Barnes (Los Angeles Clippers), and Paul Westhead (Orlando Magic).

Since the callups, Schea Cotton has begun to shine. In Friday's game against Jersey, Cotton drilled the Squires for 44 points.

Friday's game will air on KVMD-TV. Play-by-play announcer, Geoff Witcher will call the game and Neil Evans will be the color analyst. Witcher, with more than 25 years of television and radio broadcast experience, is best known for his work with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Anaheim Angels. KVMD-TV is a full service station and can be found by cable viewers on Adelphia and Charter systems in such communities as Anaheim, Santa Ana, Santa Monica and Long Beach on Channel 23. The station is also carried on satellite by DirecTV (Channel 31) and the Dish Network (Channel 8021).
