The Aberdeen IronBirds took advantage of three Renegades' errors as Hudson Valley fell to Aberdeen, 4-0, Sunday night in front of 6,498 at Ripken Stadium.

Elias Otero and Alejandro Torres led the Renegades seven-hit afar with a par of two-hit nights but it would not be enough. The IronBirds' offense recorded nine hits of their own and took advantage of three Renegades errors to plate four runs, one earned.

Wilmer Almonte (0-1, 0.00) picked up the hard-luck loss hurling 4.1 innings of four-hit, two-run (none earned) baseball. Returning Renegade Kyle Ayers pitched the remaining of the game and gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out four.

Aberdeen's starter righty Justin Moore (1-0, 0.00) recorded the win pitching five innings of four-hit, shutout baseball.

The IronBirds etched the first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning thanks to a RBI single to center field that brought the score to 0-1 (the IronBirds only earned run of the game). Aberdeen continued to peck away at the Renegade defense plating runs in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings to bring the score to its final 4-0.

The Renegades three errors on the night marked the most recorded by the Renegades this season. Shortstop Bennett Davis committed a team-high two errors with the third error coming of the glove of center fielder Chris Winder.

The Renegades come back to Dutchess Stadium tomorrow night for the 2010 Home Opener and to kickoff a two-game series with the division rival Staten Island Yankees. The Renegades will give the ball to right-hander Miguel Sierra and the Yankees will counter with righty Wilton Rodriguez. First pitch is slated for 6:35.
