Three Dodgers To Join 51s on ML Rehab Assignments

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Yhency Brazoban (YEN-SEE BRAZ-AH-BAN); left-handed pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo (KWO) and outfielder Matt Kemp will join the Las Vegas 51s on Major League Rehabilitation assignments beginning on Thursday, April 26, according to the Dodgers Public Relations Department.

Brazoban underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery last year. In 2006, he appeared in 5 games for the Dodgers and pitched 5 innings (0-0 record).

Kuo, who is recovering from a shoulder strain, has not appeared in a game this season. Last season, he appeared in 28 games for the Dodgers and compiled a 1-5 record with a 4.22 ERA in 59.2 innings. He appeared in 23 games for Triple-A Las Vegas and was 4-3 with a 3.06 ERA in 53 innings.

Kemp has appeared in five games for the Dodgers and is batting .429 (6-for-14) with a double and three RBI. Kemp suffered a mild separation to his right shoulder on Monday, April 9 against Colorado in the Dodgers' home opener when he crashed into the right field fence. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday, April 10. Kemp will rejoin Las Vegas for the ML rehab assignment after appearing in one game last home stand (April 18).

Last season, Kemp appeared in 52 games for the Dodgers and batted .253 with 7 home runs. He played with Triple-A Las Vegas for 44 games and batted .368 (67-for-182) with 14 doubles, 6 triples, 3 home runs and 36 RBI.

The 51s open an eight-game home stand on Thursday, April 26 against the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, at Cashman Field at 7:11 p.m.
