
Three D-Men Leave Brahmas

FORT WORTH, Texas (January 9) - The Fort Worth Brahmas announced Wednesday the departure of three defensemen. Erik Spady, Derrick Pallis and Joe Tolles were placed on team suspension and will all be pursuing opportunities with teams in the East Coast Hockey League.
In 100 games over the past two seasons with the Brahmas, Spady netted 31 points (eight goals, 23 assists) with a +18 plus/minus rating and 173 penalty minutes. The Deroche, British Columbia native came to Fort Worth after playing four years at Northern Michigan University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
Derrick Pallis recorded eight points (two goals, six assists) and posted a +4 plus/minus in 25 games with Fort Worth this season. The rookie defenseman played 9 games with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL at the end of the 2011-2012 season after finishing his four-year collegiate career at Princeton University.
Joe Tolles signed Wednesday with the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL after notching three points (one goal, two assists) with a +1 plus/minus in 33 games with the Brahmas in 2012-2013. Previous to signing with Fort Worth, the 6-foot, 181-pound defenseman spent time with the Florida Everblades, Wheeling Nailers and Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. Tolles also played 17 games for the Augusta Riverhawks of the Southern Professional Hockey League as a rookie in 2010-2011.
The Brahmas hit the road to take on the Allen Americans Friday, January 11 at 7:05pm at the Allen Event Center. Saturday, Fort Worth hosts Allen for the third consecutive meeting between the two teams. The game is set for 7:30pm at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, and the first 800 fans ages 12 and under in attendance will receive a free Brahmas youth jersey courtesy of Ashley Furniture.
