Thrashers Assign Gratton To Wolves

The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned left wing JOSH GRATTON (grah-TOHN) to the Chicago Wolves.

The 27-year-old forward registered three points (G, 2A) and 57 penalty minutes in 19 National Hockey League games with the Philadelphia Flyers last season, after being acquired in a trade from the Nashville Predators on Oct. 30, 2008. He also appeared in 21 American Hockey League outings last season, collecting three goals, six points and 56 penalty minutes in 21 matchups with the Milwaukee Admirals and Philadelphia Phantoms.

The Brantford, Ontario, native recorded two goals and 29 penalty minutes in four preseason outings with the Thrashers this year. Overall, GRATTON has accrued six points (3G, 3A) and 294 penalty minutes in 86 career NHL outings with Philadelphia and Phoenix in parts of four seasons (2005-09.)

GRATTON has also appeared in 192 career AHL games in six seasons with Cincinnati, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Hartford and Milwaukee, racking up 33 goals, 67 points and 771 penalty minutes. He also has skated in 27 career Calder Cup playoff matchups, notching seven points (3G, 4A) and 91 penalty minutes, which includes capturing the 2005 Calder Cup championship as a member of the Philadelphia Phantoms squad, which swept the Wolves in the Finals en route to the title that year.
