Thomas Pulls in Second Nebraska Danger Player of the Week Honor in 2018

April 19, 2018 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Nebraska Danger News Release

GRAND ISLAND - This past Saturday's road game against the Iowa Barnstormers is one to forget as the Danger offense got shutout in the second half en route to a 41-25 loss, but as with any team or any game, there's always a bright spot - even in defeat.

This week, it's once again wide receiver Eric Thomas, who has been tabbed the Nebraska Danger Player of the Week for the second time in 2018.

The team-leading receiver pulled in six more receptions for 71 yards and two touchdowns, including a 31-yard grab that resulted in a TD. Through Thomas' effort, the Danger actually led by two points after the first quarter, and held a one-point edge at halftime. Unfortunately the Barnstormers defense didn't allow another Danger point in the game to pull away for a 16-point win.

The Danger now have a week off to rest their legs before a return visit from a Sioux Falls team that just suffered its second loss of the season to the same team - the Arizona Rattlers. The Storm this week will be at home against the Cedar Rapids Titans.

Nebraska will certainly lean on their top receiver Thomas, who also is the top receiver in the IFL through eight weeks. Thomas leads the league in both receiving yards per game (63.9) and receiving touchdowns (12). Thomas proves quite the asset for quarterback Jesse Scroggins who is still trying to get his feet planted after being thrust into the starting role following a season-ending injury to previous starting quarterback Damien Fleming.

The Danger return to the Boneyard at the Heartland Events Center on Friday, April 27 at 7 pm for Mascot Night against Sioux Falls.Tickets for the 2018 Nebraska Danger Football Season are on sale through the Heartland Events Center Ticket Office, Ticketmaster.com, or through your local Pump and Pantry Locations.
