Fri., August 2- The Rockford IceHogs Booster Club hosts the UHL Booster Club Convention this weekend. A Luau Theme Dinner is planned for Friday, and a Charity Dinner Auction is on the schedule for Saturday at the ClockTower Resort and Convention Center. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Hockey Fights Cancer. To reserve your spot at the convention, contact Tracy Smith at (815) 227-5072. She can also be reached online at icehogfan1@mac.com.

Sat., August 3- Hamilton E. Hog loves parades, and he'll participate in yet another one on Saturday. The Swedish American Festival Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Mid Town Depot (between 6th Avenue & 7th Street) in Rockford. The Swedish American Festival is sponsored by the Swedish Historical Society and the Mid Town District.

Tues., August 6- The Rockford IceHogs plan to staff a booth at the Boone County Fair starting on Tuesday of next week. The fair, which runs through Sunday, will also feature hundreds of other exhibitors. Stop by the IceHogs booth throughout the six-day event and sign up for the IceHogs Jersey Raffle. A game-worn IceHogs jersey will be given away to one lucky fairgoer, and several other prizes will also be passed out to fans throughout the duration of the fair. If that's not enough, Hamilton E. Hog and IceHogs players will also be on hand for autographs at the fair each night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Wed., August 7- Oak Hewer will represent the IceHogs at a Children's World Open House, scheduled for Wednesday at 6473 East Riverside Boulevard in Rockford. Hewer wil promote literacy by reading to the children from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Week in Review...

Thurs., July 25- Hamilton E. Hog joined IceHogs Oak Hewer, Dan Davies and Clint Wensley at Carlson Ice Arena on Thursday, and all four participated in a summer camp sponsored by the Rockford Gymnastics Academy. About 40 youngsters took advantage of the chance to skate with the IceHogs. All four IceHogs also honored every last autograph request.

IceHogs fans that visited our Web site at www.icehogs.com this past week were greeted with the following question: The Port Huron Beacons begin play in the UHL this fall. Do you like the name? The answer: Sixty-five percent of the 127 voters who answered the question said no, 24 percent said yes, and 11 percent said they were indifferent.
