
Admirals Sign Forward Jason Jaffray

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. â Today, the Norfolk Admirals announced that they have signed left wing Jason Jaffray to AHL standard players' contracts. In keeping with club policy terms of the agreement was not disclosed.
"He's a top junior player we're expecting big things from in the future," said Admirals General Manager Al MacIsaac. "We're excited he'll be in our camp this year."
Jaffray, 21, skated in 73 games last season for the Swift Current Broncos and Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In 2001-02, he posted career highs in games, goals (38), assists (45) and points (83), and picked up 82 penalty minutes. Jaffray also saw action in 12 playoff matches recording 4+5=9 points and 25 PIM.
Last year, the 6'1", 200 lbs. winger appeared in the WHL/OHL Hershey Cup All-Star Game and was named Captain of the WHL Eastern Conference All-Star Team. Jaffray was the winner of the Swift Current "Molson 3 Star Award" and "Leadership and Maturity Award," and finished the season as the top scorer for the Broncos. Prior to being traded to Swift Current on December 4, 2001, the Olds, Alta., native served as Team Captain for Kootenay.
