PORTLAND, March 2, 2009 - The Portland LumberJax have four school appearances this week before defenseman Brodie Merrill, goalie Matt Disher, forward Peter Morgan and Assistant Coach and Community Relations and Creative Design Director Dallas Eliuk head to Denver for the National Lacrosse League All-Star Game.

On Monday, March 2nd the week begins for the Jax (5-3) as members of the team will be at Gilbert Park Elementary School from 10-11 a.m. to take part in reading day.

Then, the Jax are at Mt. Scott Elementary School on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. As part of Pacific Power's School Program, the organization makes countless visits to local Oregon schools. The school program promotes the importance of a healthy lifestyle, provides lacrosse instruction, offers well-liked demonstrations and the viewing of the hit Jax School Program DVD.

The week continues for the Jax on Friday as members of the team will be at Eastwood Elementary School from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Saturday, March 7th is all about the NLL All-Star Game, which is at 6 p.m. PST at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. After being enshrined in the NLL Hall of Fame earlier that day, Eliuk will coach the West Division All-Stars. Merrill and Disher will start for the West.
