
Third Season of Philadelphia Union's Weekly Radio Show "The 90th Minute" Debuts on CBS Sports Radio

Chester, Pa. (March 13, 2014) -Philadelphia Union's weekly radio program, "The 90th Minute," on CBS Sports Radio 610 kicks off its third season on Tuesday, March 18 at Chickie's and Pete's in Drexel Hill. Veteran television personality and current Union executive Carl Cherkin returns as the show's host and will be joined this season by Philadelphiaunion.com writer Kevin Kinkead. The show will be broadcast from Chickie's and Pete's in Drexel Hill for the first seven weeks before rotating to different Chickie's and Pete's locations for seven week increments. The next stop will be Chickie's and Pete's in the Northeast followed by the Warrington location.
The 90th Minute will also be streamed on CBS Sports Radio 610 via CBSPhilly.com or the Radio.com app for iPhone or Android.
The event is free and open to the public, with on-air broadcasting scheduled from 7:00- 8:00 p.m. and various events such as a Union player meet-and-greet, raffles, prizes and giveaways from 6:30 p.m. -8:00 p.m. Fans dressed in Union gear will pay just $5 for a plain pizza.
In addition to Cherkin and Kinkead, each week's show will include special guests such as Union players and coaches, members of the Union's broadcast team and other prominent figures in the sports world. The first show will feature Philadelphia Union CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. Fans are encouraged to submit questions via Facebook and Twitter, as well as on site at Chickie's and Pete's. On site prizes and giveaways include autographed items and authentic Union gear, as well as tickets for an upcoming Union match.
The Union have also added sports journalist Kristian Dyer to their broadcast team. Based in the New York area, Dyer will join Tony Limarzi on the Union's pregame and halftime shows for games broadcast on 6abc, Comcast SportsNet and The Comcast Network. Dyer currently covers a variety of sports for Metro New York, including beat coverage of MLS and the NFL. He is a regular contributor to BigAppleSoccer.com and has previously written for ESPN.com and SportIllustrated.com. He has covered high school and college soccer for Fios1 and MSG Varsity television broadcasts.
