Third Quarter Costs Rainmen First Game of NBL Canada Season

(LONDON, ON) A shaky third quarter cost the Halifax Rainmen their first game of the National Basketball of Canada regular season tonight at the John Labatt Centre in London.

The team fell to the Lightning by a score of 118 to 110.

Although the Rainmen outscored the Lightning in the first, second and fourth quarters, it was the third quarter where the Lightning decided the game by outscoring the Rainmen 43 to 25.

The leading scorers for the Rainmen were Lawrence Wright with 29 points, followed by Taliek Brown with 20. Rodney Buford added 14 points in the loss, while Shawn Hawkins added 10. The box score statistics can be found attached to this press release or at www.dakstats.com.

The Rainmen will look for revenge against the Lightning when they host the team during their home opener at the Halifax Metro Centre on Saturday, November 5 at 7 p.m.
