Thinel Has Record Setting Night in Jacks Road Win

(Amarillo, TX) - It was a record night for Sebastien Thinel as the Jackalopes' forward recorded four points to set the franchise single season points record, single season assist record, and achieve a new career high in overall points for a season. The Jacks topped Amarillo, 5-2, on Sunday night at the Amarillo Civic Center.

Odessa pulled away from the Gorillas with a four goal second period. Jeff Pierce scored a pair of power play goals, Thinel added his 37th goal of the season, and Paul Kelly also scored for the Jacks.

Dave Van Drunen scored his fourth goal of the season on assists from Thinel and Jean Bourbeau. It was Thinel's 56th assist off the season setting a new Jackalopes record for assists in a single season.

Amarillo added two third period goals from John Snowden and Jake Morissette.

Thinel now has 95 points on the season to lead the Central Hockey League.

The Jackalopes close their final road trip of the regular season on Tuesday in a St. Patrick's Day matchup with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Game time is 7:35 PM.
