New York City FC News Release
NEW YORK, N.Y. - New York City Football Club (NYCFC) today unveiled its 2022-2023 away kit, 'The Volt Kit,' inspired by the Club's fans that power the Club throughout each game and the entire season. To launch the new adidas kit design, NYCFC has spotlighted members from the Club's two official Supporters Groups, The Third Rail and Los Templados, alongside members of the First Team.
The kit is inspired by the fans' energy, the rumbling and clatter of the city's trains during rush hour and the booming of drums and fan noise in the stands. The design's primary color is orange and features a navy-blue lightning bolt, representing the electric atmosphere the fans create at matches and their role as the primary source of passion and energy for the Club.
NYCFC First Team players Malte Amundsen, Héber, Anton Tinnerholm and Alfredo Morales are also featured in the launch of 'The Volt Kit.' Malte, Héber and Anton are International Players for the First Team, while Alfredo was born in Germany, he represents the United States on the international level and has earned 16 caps for the USMNT. Together, these players represent the diversity of New Yorkers and NYCFC fans - people from all over the world brought together through their love of the world's game and New York City.
NYCFC Midfielder, Alfredo Morales, commented:
"I'm honored to unveil our new kit, especially one that is strongly connected to our fans who are the best fans in the league. I know our fans have wanted an orange kit for many years, and it's even more special they finally have one with a star on it for our MLS Cup win last year.
"Having the fans back in the stands last season was very uplifting for our team. They played an important part in our championship run and I'm proud to wear this kit that was inspired by them."
'The Volt Kit' is now on-sale now via MLSstore.com/new-york-city-fc.
