The Trend Continues as Hebert Picks up Star of the Week Recognition

JOHNSTOWN - The Johnstown Tomahawks and the North American Hockey League announced Monday that Cam Hebert has been named East Division Star of the Week for the week ending Nov. 25, 2018.

This is the fifth consecutive week a Tomahawks player has earned the distinction of star of the week. Previous winners include: Colin Price, Carter McPhail, Carson Brière and Sam Solensky.

Hebert netted eight points during the team's home win against Maryland on Nov. 21 and also during a weekend sweep of the Northeast Generals, which extended the Tomahawks' league-leading winning streak to 15 games.

On Wednesday, Nov. 21, Hebert notched a goal and two assists as the Tomahawks defeated the Maryland Black Bears 8-2 at 1st Summit Arena. The St. Andrews West, Ontario native followed that with a goal and two assists on Friday, Nov. 23 as the Hawks dispatched the Northeast Generals 5-2.

Saturday, Nov. 24, Hebert picked up two assists, including on Brière's game winner in overtime, in a 3-2 thrilling win against Northeast.

"Cameron's play this week was very strong in all three games and he played a major role in us being able to pick up three valuable wins," head coach Mike Letizia said. "On Wednesday and Friday, he had three-point games and then Saturday night, his two point were in crucial moments; assisting on the game-tying and game-winning goals. He has such an efficient 200-foot game and is an important member of team on both sides of the puck. He has been everything we hoped for and more this year."

Hebert is committed to play hockey for Robert Morris University.

The Tomahawks hit the road on Saturday, Dec. 1 as they begin a two-game series with Northeast.

Johnstown returns to 1st Summit Arena on Friday, Dec. 14 for a 7:30 p.m. tilt with New Jersey. Fans will receive a souvenir beanie cap while supplies last. Saturday night is the traditional Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or other stuffed animals to the game to toss onto the ice after the Tomahawks score their first goal. Faceoff on Saturday, Dec. 15 is set for 7 p.m.
