Corpus Christi, Texas: November 3, 2004 – Fresh off of their first win of the season, the Corpus Christi Rayz are ready to return home and open up the all-new AmericanBank Center, this Friday night. The Rayz will host the Laredo Bucks in the inaugural event at the new state-of-the art arena in downtown Corpus Christi. Tickets are still available at all Ticketmaster locations, including FYE and Foley's in Padre Staples Mall, Rich's in Sunrise Mall and Ticketmaster.com. The game will begin at 7:05pm, but fans are encouraged to come out early for the opening night festivities. The doors will open at 5:30pm.

On Saturday night, the Rayz skated to their first win of the season in Colorado as they beat the Eagles by the final score of 6-2. Rayz netminder, Josh Blackburn made 51 saves and Ryan Carter had two goals to lead the Rayz to the victory. The game concluded the team's season-high, four-game road trip which kicked off their 2004-2005 CHL campaign. The Rayz are 1-2-1 with three points in four games this season.

The excitement surrounding the AmericanBank Center opening is flowing through South Texas leading up to Friday night's game. On Tuesday night, the Rayz held their Season Ticket Holder party and fans flocked to the event to claim their Rayz tickets. At the party, the Rayz announced the Grand Prize winner of the Rayz Rewards program. Season ticket holder, Alex Prado won a chance to play for the Corpus Christi Rayz in a regular season game during the 2004-2005 season. Alex will sign a CHL contract, get his own personalized Rayz jersey, and then start a game for the Rayz at the AmericanBank Center. Alex was one of four finalists. Alvino Aldaco, John Hitchcock and Carol Anne Arnall were also finalists and won their choice of a team autographed stick or jersey.

The Corpus Christi Rayz will play their home-opener this Friday night, November 5th when they take on their biggest rivals, the Laredo Bucks. Fans in attendance at Friday's game will be given free gifts as they enter the doors for the first time ever at the AmericanBank Center. All fans are encouraged to arrive early. Additional parking will be available at the Memorial Coliseum where complimentary shuttles will travel to and from the AmericanBank Center prior to, and following the game.
