September 11, 2018 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Sudbury Five News Release
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury FIVE Basketball team are happy to announce that the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) have released the 2018-19 Championship Season Schedule.
The FIVE will play a total 40 regular season games and the schedule was released with the entire 200 game NBL Canada schedule this week. Included in the 40 game FIVE schedule are 20 home games in the Sudbury Arena between November 22, 2018 and March 28th, 2019 before play-offs being April 1, 2019.
The official FIVE Home schedule features 8 Thursday night and 6 Saturday night home games this winter as well as 3 Sundays, 2 Fridays and 1 Monday basketball game.
"We are happy with the inaugural schedule that has been released," said General Manager and Head Coach Logan Stutz. "With 9 home games before New Years Eve and the balance of the home schedule spread over January, February and March, I think this will force our team to quickly gel and demonstrate what we can do early in the season so that the community embraces us with their support."
"This next step in the process of bringing live professional basketball entertainment to our city and here in the north is so gratifying as it puts us that much closer to tip off," said Dario Zulich, Team Owner and Governor. "We are redefining how we look at ourselves in the north and are inspired by these athletes who are choosing Sudbury to showcase their skills."
