Eight R-Phils games feature a promotional tie to the World Series The Reading Phillies 2009 promotional schedule, which was revealed last week, features eight games with events and/or giveaways that will celebrate the 2008 World Series championship of their long-time affiliate.

Degler leaves R-Phils radio booth Long-time Reading Phillies radio broadcaster Steve Degler will leave the booth to join Service Electric Cable TV2 Sports television broadcasts for both the Double-A R-Phils and the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

Important date only days away On Monday, March 2, the R-Phils ticket office at FirstEnergy Stadium opens. Tickets are currently available online only. "The Scoop" Exclusive - World Baseball Classic Fans won't find which former R-Phils are participating in the 2nd World Baseball Classic anywhere on r-phils.com but here it is: Australia: IF Brad Harman (2008); Dominican Republic: coach Ramon Henderson; Italy: IF Mike Costanzo (2007), IF Nick Punto (2000); Panama: P Bruce Chen (2001), C Carlos Ruiz (2003-04), IF Angel Chavez (2006); Puerto Rico: coach Carlos Arroyo; USA: coach Mike Schmidt, SS Jimmy Rollins (2000); Venezuela: P Francisco Butto (2005), P Carlos Silva (2001): P Drew Naylor and C Joel Naughton are also playing for the Australian team. They're Phillies Minor Leaguers who have yet to reach Reading. The tournament begins on ... check the important dates above :)
