The Original Jackal is Back

The Elmira Jackals, 2003-2004 United Hockey League Eastern Conference Champions, announced today that they have resigned Eddie Lowe for the 2004-2005 season. Lowe will play his fifth straight season for the Jackals and is the only member left from the first Jackals team.

Last season the Jackals forward scored 25 goals with 28 assists for 53 points in the regular season. He chipped in with six goals and seven assists during the playoffs as well. In his four years as a Jackal, Lowe has totaled 96 goals and 90 assists for 186 points during the regular season and 11 goals and 13 assists during the playoffs. Prior to joining the Jackals Lowe played for the University of Saskatchewan from 1998-2000. Before that he spent time with the Richmond Renegades and the Dayton Bombers, both of the ECHL.

"We are all excited to have the original Jackal back on board," stated Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost. "Eddie brings veteran leadership to the team and he is a great role model in the community. He always plays his best hockey in the most important games."

Lowe was named the "Co-Player of the Year" by the Star-Gazette for his efforts during the 2003-2004 Season. Eddie is a native of Montreal who now resides in Elmira with his wife Katie and newborn son, William Donald Lowe.
