Jake Farrell went 2-3 and hit a home run, helping the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (19-26) to a 3-2 victory over the Pittsfield Suns (17-27) on Wednesday at Vineyard Baseball Park.
He homered in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Mac Curran brought the heat against the Pittsfield Suns during his outing. The Pittsfield Suns managed just one hit off of Curran, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out seven during his four innings of work.
Austin Hansen was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Marthas Vineyard Sharks batters and allowing three runs.
Hansen couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Pittsfield Suns, taking a loss.
