July 13, 2016 - American Indoor Football (AIF) - Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release

Allentown, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks have announced they will not return to the league in 2017. Although the Steelhawks have not announced the new league they will play in, the team felt it was important to inform the AIF and its member teams of their intended departure.

The Steelhawks wish to thank John Morris and the rest of the AIF for their efforts during the 2016 season and wish them the best of luck in the future.

A spokesman for the Steelhawks said, "We just believe there is a better fit for us elsewhere. We are looking for a competitive league with established rivalries that our fans will enjoy."

The Steelhawks would also like to thank their NOISE NATION fan base for all of their support for the last six seasons, especially the last two inside their NEST at the PPL Center.
