The Juniors fall to the Cataractes 3 to 1

Montreal - The Montreal Juniors concluded this two-game homestand against the Shawinigan Cataractes with a loss by the score of 3 to 1. It was a close game until the very end when Shawinigan added two quick goals in the last few minutes of the third. Cataractes goaltender Gabriel Girard led the way with 23 saves. Juniors forward Nicolas Chouinard scored in the loss. Pierre-Alexandre Vandall, Toni Ritter, and Michael Bournival contributed the three goals for the Cataractes.

The only goal in first period came from Juniors captain Nicolas Chouinard, who fired one past goaltender Gabriel Girard for his tenth of the year from Guillaume Asselin and Louis-Marc Aubry at 16:52. The Cataractes tied the game in the second when Pierre-Alexandre Vandall deflected in Dominik Schlumpf's wrister at 10:35 for his fourteenth of the year. Shawinigan forward Toni Ritter scored the go-head goal in the third as he tapped home the rebound after Berube made the kick save on Maxime Legault's shot at 16:42. The Cataractes put the game away when forward Michael Bournival added the empty-netter at 19:56 of the third.

Juniors goalie Jean-Francois Berube, the third star of the match, was sharp in loss as he denied 32 shots. Cataractes goaltender Gabriel Girard stopped 23 shots as he led his team to victory. The Montreal Juniors are now 12-13-0-1 and the Cataractes improve to 12-10-1-2.

The Montreal Juniors will now head east to Quebec City as they face the Quebec Remparts tomorrow afternoon. The Juniors will be back in the Auditorium as they host the Gatineau Olympiques on Friday, November 27th at 7:35PM. Montreal will visit Rimouski as the Juniors take on the Oceanic on Sunday, November 29th.
